What if we viewed the unknown — the void — as a place of possibilities, and not a place to fear?

This is one of the essential teachings of The Freedom Transmissions. Light and the void aren't opposites — they're partners. Light reveals, and the void transforms. Transformation is found in the unknown. Don’t you love this reframe?

Because... drum roll please... our souls come from the void, before we come into body/form. The void is actually a birthing place.

To embrace this takes faith, presence, and curiosity. It means choosing a different thought — choosing to see the vast unknown as a place of beginnings and transformation, even though a void is also a space of endings. It's both/and. Every beginning has an ending, every ending has a beginning.

How we choose to perceive it is up to us. We have the power to shift our perception. Easier said than done, I know — but this is part of taking responsibility for ourselves. This is letting our soul call the shots, telling our brain what to focus on. (The brain loves having a job, but our soul and spirit need to be the boss.) This is acting as that divine parent to ourselves. Doesn't it feel like a great kindness to tell ourselves a better, more loving story?

I know so many people who are in the middle of an ending, a transition, and/or a dark night of the ego. In this space it can feel like grief. It can feel scary. It can feel like we're completely untethered.

And it can also feel like a birthing — new seeds for growth, a starting point meant for our soul's evolution.

So, we're encouraged to see the light and the void as two sides of one coin — we can't have one without the other. To embrace one, we must embrace the other. They’re buddies.

As TFT puts it: "You are immune from the chaos of the Void when you accept it. So, when you release the fear, and actually invite the Void into your life without judging, you live in a state of continuous yoga, meditation, prayer, and creation."

WORTH KNOWING

📸 13 powerful sentences by Dolly Parton that will change how you see the world.

📝 Beginnings and endings are the same story. What moving my daughter into college taught be about perception, grief, and growing into a new chapter as a family.

🎥 I am currently reading Devotions, Mary Oliver’s book of poems. (A poem or two every day until I finish her book.) So imagine my delight when I heard there is a documentary out about her.

Little things keeping me going.

How chameleons change their color — it involves reflecting different wavelengths of light.

→ Hey leaf-peepers, here’s where fall colors will put on their best show this fall. Get out into nature and ground in that Mother Earth!
